O'Connor Hits 2 home runs in Grey Wolves Win
|
The Vancouver Grey Wolves grabbed a 7-6 win over the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC at Great Northern Field. Vancouver designated hitter Robert O'Connor belted 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice to earn player of the game honors. Vancouver reliever Tate Beason picked up the win to move to 1-0. Brandon Bannatyne suffered the loss. Francisco Valdés earned his 4th save in 5 tries.
In the top of the sixth inning, catcher Brian Williams came through big-time for the Grey Wolves. With Vancouver trailing 6-3, he belted a 3-run home run.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said O'Connor.
Vancouver bumps their record to 8-18 with the win.
