"Getting ahead of the hitters is the key," said Anakone.
South Beach got an elite performance from starting pitcher Malulani Anakone in taking a 4-0 decision over the Nebraska Plainsmen. At 42-30, South Beach is in third place in the Premier A.
The Blaze liked what they saw from Anakone. The 21-year old pitcher had a commanding presence on the mound, limiting the Plainsmen to no earned runs on 3 hits over 7.1 innings, and striking out 7.
"Malulani is tough when he's hitting his spots," said South Beach manager Lockwood Rose.
