Gwinnett County Black Cats starter Rich Choquette turned in a sterling performance against the Chicago Tula, leading his team to a slim 1-0 win. Choquette got the win, improving to 8-4. He allowed 6 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. Choquette allowed no earned runs. Ming-hoa Zhou converted his 20th save in 22 tries.
Edgardo De Jesús, who is tied for 7th in the PA in stolen bases with 14, aided the Gwinnett County cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the right fielder was 1-3.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Choquette told the Gwinnett County Observer.
The Black Cats bumped their record to 35-35 with this latest triumph.
