|
The Phoenix Hotspur U-21 picked up a win at Plain Old Stadium, knocking off the Nebraska Plainsmen, 4-2. Starting pitcher Jorge Cruzan was an essential part of his team's success. Cruzan was the winning pitcher and moves to 4-2. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 3 and giving up 5 walks. Phoenix, at 16-14, sits in 5th place in the Premier A.
In the top of the fourth, Solomon Norment had a big 2-run double off Britt Throgmorton. With the double, the Phoenix shortstop put his team in front, 2-0. He went 1 for 2 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI in the contest.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Norment told the Phoenix Observer.
