Reapers Lose, 5-1, at Alameda Field
Alameda Field was the site of a competitive game between the Grim Reapers and Alameda Airmen.

The Alameda Airmen topped the Grim Reapers, 5-1, in USSL Single A action at Alameda Field. The player of the game was Alameda pitcher and Bayonet Point, Florida native Larry Strozier. Strozier, now 3-3, was the winner. In 6.2 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run.

The Airmen got a big at-bat from Gérard Chesnutt. For the game, Chesnutt went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Alameda a 2-0 lead.

"It feels good to get that win," said Strozier. "Now it's on to the next one."

With the victory, the Airmen record now stands at 16-21.
