The Kennesaw Jets eeked out a 4-2 win versus the Niagara Falls Expos at Jets Stadium. Nobody did more than pitcher Luis Torrez, who captured player of the game honors. Torrez went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 8 hits, walked 1, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-4. Jong-yun Chong got the save, the 5th for him this season.
Lower Merion, Pennsylvania-born Lester Kwiatkowski came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the Jets trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run single to center to put Kennesaw on top.
"Getting the win feels pretty nice," said Kwiatkowski. "More importantly, I had a good game."
With the win over Niagara Falls, the Jets improved to 11-17.
