Reapers Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
Grim beat Kennesaw at Jets Stadium, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Johnnie Bough, who earned player of the game honors. Archie Erickson earned the save for Grim, his 3rd of the year. The Grim Reapers, now 9-1, have stormed out of the gates.
In the top of the 7th, third baseman Ignacio Hernández gave Grim the lead when he hit a 2-run home run. The Reapers had been trailing 2-1, but the two-out home run off Kennesaw pitcher Osiris St. Brown changed that -- and Grim went on to win.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Grim Reapers manager Dale Wolfe.
