The Highwood Hawks did just enough to sneak past the Connetquot Chiefs, 2-0, at The Big Teepee. Highwood pitcher Matt Digby earned player of the game honors. Digby picked up the win for Highwood, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 9-1. José Barquero earned the save, his 27th.
Jack Bonner aided the Highwood cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the sixth. For the game, the catcher drove in one run.
In comments to the Highwood Times, Bonner insisted that he's not as disinterested as it often appears. "Haters will hate," he added.
Highwood goes to 54-25. The win puts them 7 games up in their division.
