Lionhearts Fall to Highlanders, 4-3
|
The Asheville Highlanders picked up a win at Asheville Park, knocking off the Lannister United Lionhearts, 4-3. Starting pitcher Claudio Salazar played a key role in the triumph. Luis López locked down his 8th save. The Highlanders saw their win-loss record go to 32-42. At the same time, the Lionhearts fall to 42-32.
A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the second, with the game tied, Marshall Attwood was at the plate when Asheville scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Highlanders to go in front, 3-1.
"It was a solid team effort," said Salazar after the game.
