Continentals Saddle Highlanders with 2-1 Loss
In a tight game between the Chesapeake Continentals and the Asheville Highlanders, pitcher António Alomar was terrific on the mound. The Chesapeake right-hander was named the player of the game in Chesapeake's 2-1 win. Alomar was the winning pitcher and moves to 5-6. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 2 walks. The Continentals raised their record to 32-34.

In the top of the seventh inning, first baseman Juan Chávez came through big-time for the Continentals. With Chesapeake leading 1-0, he belted a solo home run.
