Phoenix Hotspur played host to Asheville at the friendly confines of Grenadiers Ballpark.
In a tight contest at Grenadiers Ballpark, the Phoenix Hotspur Youth edged the Asheville Highlanders by the score of 6-4. The Phoenix Hotspur Youth's second baseman António Escalante, who blasted 1 home run, was named the player of the game. Morris Prinkey was the winner. Over 8 innings, he allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, with 1 walk and 3 strikeouts. Earning his 13th save of the year was Richard Osborn.
Escalante came through with some timely hitting for Phoenix Hotspur. With the score 3-0 in the bottom of the fourth and no one down, Escalante hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run single. It was his 44th hit of the season -- and a big reason the Youth managed to win.
"We take it day by day here," said Escalante, "and today was a good one for us."
