Hotspur Reserves Stay Hot with 7-4 Win
|
The Phoenix Hotspur Reserves defeated the Jersey City Tritons, 7-4, in USPL Triple A action at Jersey City Grounds, with Phoenix pitcher John Ball named player of the game. Ball was the winning pitcher and moves to 5-6. He threw 7 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 7 walks. The Hotspur Reserves saw their record improve to 31-41.
Jesús Mejía didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a run-scoring double to put Phoenix on top, 1-0.
