The Marquette Miners defeated the Atlantic City Sonics, 6-4. Earning player of the game honors was center fielder Tural Bishara, who went 3-3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Benjamin Busto got the win, improving to 8-3. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 9 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 1 and walking 2. The second-place Miners have won 5 in a row.
Also having an impact was shortstop Sameen Shaw, who stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the second for Marquette. For the game, Shaw was 1-4 with a double.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Bishara told the Marquette News.
