Late Rally by Seawolves Secures Win
Both teams had their chances, but the Long Island Seawolves eventually prevailed at Ballpark of Remsen.

The Long Island Seawolves eeked out a 3-2 win versus the Springfield Shooters at Ballpark of Remsen. Nobody did more than pitcher Daniel Lavalley, who captured player of the game honors. The Seawolves now own a record of 23-43.

Late in the game, center fielder Denis Jerningham had a big at-bat for Long Island. In the bottom of the eighth, he hit a run-scoring single off Vicente Escamilla. The play gave the Seawolves a 3-2 lead.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager John Carney.
