Casper used a superb performance from starting pitcher Ron Manning to down the Long Island Seawolves, 3-1. Manning got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 7 innings. Manning allowed no earned runs. Tadayoshi Tanaka got credit for the save for Casper. It was his 1st of the year.
Ron Coffman contributed a productive at-bat in the top of the fourth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he drew a walk. It was one at-bat that helped Casper get the win.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Matt Helsley.
The Casper Ghosts, now 14-6, have been on fire in the early going.
