Dutchmen Sink Hawks, 6-2

The New Amsterdam Dutchmen picked up a win at Hawks Ballpark, knocking off the Chicago Hawks, 6-2. Starting pitcher Rusty Swanson played a key role in the triumph. New Amsterdam, at 50-43, occupies 7th place in the Third League.
There was more than one reason the Dutchmen beat the Hawks, but one factor was Cornelius Taitt. In the top of the second, the New Amsterdam right fielder came to bat and hit a 2-run single. It staked his team to a 2-0 lead.
"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said Swanson.
