Portland used a superb performance from starting pitcher George Eisenhauer to down the New Amsterdam Dutchmen, 10-1. Eisenhauer, now 4-0, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 7, walking 5, and allowing 1 earned run. Today's win puts Portland at 59-31, while New Amsterdam falls to 49-41.
Clay Rush helped his team jump on top from the get-go. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run single to give Portland a 2-0 lead.
"It's easier to pitch when you get run support," said Eisenhauer.
