Thundercats Take Tight Tilt
|
In a low-scoring game between the Richardson City Thundercats and the Wizarding Express, pitcher Cordell Wilson was masterful on the mound. The Richardson City right-hander was named the player of the game in Richardson City's 3-1 win. Wilson, now 7-6, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run. The 8th-place Thundercats lifted their record to 25-34.
In the top of the 4th, the Thundercats grabbed the lead when Louis Gibbons rapped a two-out home run. Richardson City was trailing 1-0, when Gibbons hit a 2-run home run off Gabe Stephenson to put his team in front, 2-1.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Wilson said after the game.
