3-2 Drummers Win over Lake Monsters Evens Season Record
|
The Tortolita Drummers picked up a win at Monster Field, knocking off the Vermont Lake Monsters, 3-2. Starting pitcher Francisco López, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. López got the win, improving to 2-6. He allowed 3 hits and walked 2 over 6.2 innings. López allowed 1 earned run. Tortolita's record now stands at 39-39, placing them 7th in the Silver AAA.
Ramón García dealt the Lake Monsters a blow in the top of the fifth. Batting with the bases empty and Tortolita leading 2-0, García, who is tied for 5th in the SAAA in doubles with 15, hit a first pitch curveball for a solo home run.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said López.
