Fleming Sensational for Lake Monsters
The Vermont Lake Monsters eeked out a 2-1 win versus the Tortolita Drummers at Monster Field. Nobody did more than pitcher Stewart Fleming, who captured player of the game honors. Cherles Gachineiro notched his 19th save in 23 chances. The win puts the Lake Monsters at 36-40, while the Drummers drop to 38-38.

The Drummers had few good swings against Fleming, the right-hander, who threw 104 pitches over 8 innings. He allowed just no runs on 3 hits.

In postgame comments to the Vermont Observer, Fleming said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
