A 5-RBI performance from Martín Méndez helped the Port Royal Disaster beat the Alloway Halberds, 11-3. Port Royal reliever Joe Griffin got the win, raising his record to 4-2. John Hamilton was tagged with the loss. With the win, Port Royal goes to 21-32, while the Halberds fall to 15-38.
Ricky Payton aided the Port Royal cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the designated hitter drove in one run.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Payton said. "We did a pretty good job of that today."
