Loons Pull Back to .500 with Win over Atoms
|
A 3-RBI performance from second baseman Taylor Landis, who is tied for 9th in the SAA with a .373 on-base percentage, led the Minnesota Loons to a 8-5 win over the Bethesda Atoms. With the win, Minnesota goes to 37-37, while the Atoms fall to 32-42.
José Mercado took Vincent O'Higgin deep with two out in the bottom of the first. On a 1-0 fastball, Mercado drilled a 2-run home run to left. It was his 7th home run of the season and put Minnesota on top, 3-1.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Landis, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
