Rangers Take Down Thundercats, 3-1
|
Boddy never let Richardson City get something going. The Austin right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Rangers to a win. Boddy, now 6-2, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 5, walking 5, and allowing 1 earned run. Júlio Rodríguez earned the save, his 10th.
Yoshihito Samurakami took Alec Pittman deep with two out in the top of the seventh. On a 1-2 fastball, Samurakami drilled a solo home run to left. It was his 5th home run of the season and put Austin on top, 2-1.
"For the most part, I stayed out of the middle of the plate," Boddy said.
The win puts the Rangers at 23-22, while the Thundercats drop to 20-25.
