Loons Squelch Durham Offense in Shutout Win
|
Denny Tallman never let the Durham Rapiers find their groove. Throughout the game, Tallman, who was drafted in the three round of the 2027 draft, relied on his bread and butter, his slider, in pitching the Loons to a win. The winning pitcher was Tallman, now 3-0. He tossed 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 4 and fanning 6. The Loons own a robust 19-26 mark.
In the bottom of the sixth, Salvador Esparza had a big run-scoring double off Lance de Valk. With the double, the Minnesota designated hitter put his team in front, 1-0. He went 1-3 with a double and a walk in the contest.
"We did a lot of things right," said Esparza.
