Tacoma Makes It 7 Straight with 3-2 Win
|
In a low-scoring tilt between the Tacoma Fur Traders and the Irving Blue Sox, pitcher Luis Flores was the difference-maker. The Tacoma right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 3-2 win. Juan Vargas was credited with the save for Tacoma, his 2nd of the season. The Fur Traders, at 25-11, have now won 7 straight.
The game turned with one out in the bottom of the eighth when Flores, who is tied for 8th in the SAA in extra base hits with 10, hit a solo home run. It propelled the Fur Traders into the lead, 3-2.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Tacoma manager Wesley Ellis.
