Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Richardson City Thundercats got the win.
Richardson City Thundercats starter Josef van der Poel pitched a strong game against the Wizarding Express at The Thunder Dome, leading the Thundercats to a 3-2 win. Richardson City reliever Armando Gonzáles was the winner. His record is now 2-3. Dan Mitchell took the loss. Bo Tubbs locked down his 6th save.
Tomás Martínez in the bottom of the sixth had a productive at-bat. With a runner on 2nd and the Thundercats trailing 2-1, the Richardson City first baseman hit a run-scoring single.
"We're just going to try to build off this win," said Martínez.
The Thundercats now own a record of 16-23.
