Fighting Dachsunds Topple Doubledays with Late Rally
|
The Ellenburg Fighting Dachsunds knocked off the Tremont Doubledays, 8-5, at Doubledays Stadium. Marty Jennings, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Ellenburg won. The second baseman went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI. With the win, the Fighting Dachsunds have a record of 45-32.
Héctor Rivera broke a 5-5 tie in the top of the eighth with a run-scoring walk. It put the Fighting Dachsunds in front, 6-5. For the game, Rivera drew 2 walks in 5 plate appearances.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Rivera said. "We did a pretty good job of that today."
