Red Pandas Fall to Longnecks, 3-2
|
Bloomington Longnecks starter Miguel Cervantes was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Sioux Falls Red Pandas, 3-2. Cervantes was the winning pitcher and moves to 8-4. He threw 6.1 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up no walks. Richard Sykes earned the save, his 10th.
Flexing his muscles for Bloomington was Eddie Ménard. The right fielder had a 2-run home run in the top of the third for the Longnecks. It put his team ahead, 3-1, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Ménard was 1 for 5 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"I just trusted my stuff," said Cervantes.
The Longnecks raised their record to 36-21.
