Rainbow Mermaids Reel Off Another Win
|
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids stopped the Richardson City Thundercats, 5-4, at Atlantica. The Rainbow Mermaids got a big game from Francisco Ornelas, who went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The 5th-place Rainbow Mermaids have won 7 straight.
One important at-bat came with runners on 2nd and 3rd in the bottom of the fifth, when Ornelas hit a 2-run single. The Rainbow Mermaids went on to win.
"We're obviously playing with a lot of confidence," said Northern Virginia manager David Lenlister.
