Benedict Patel made an impact in the 8-7 Bloomington win over Augusta. Patel, who was drafted in the three round of the 2026 draft, went 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Bloomington reliever Richard Sykes was credited with the win, to go to 1-0. Preston Vick took the loss for Augusta. The win gives the Longnecks a record of 3-4.

One important at-bat came with runners on 1st and 3rd in the bottom of the eighth. That's when Shang-de Zhang hit a 2-run triple. The Longnecks went on to win.
