Bowties Fall to Stingers, 4-3
|
Fans who came to Pacesetter Park watched the Toledo Stingers and the Buckhead Bowties fight to the finish.
Starting pitcher Brad Cunnick pitched well enough to help the Toledo Stingers beat the Buckhead Bowties by the score of 4-3. Joshua Barnes closed the game out for Toledo, earning his 9th save.
Toledo took control in the bottom of the eighth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Juan Ramos hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, Stingers.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Toledo Stingers manager TJ Reynolds. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
The win puts the Stingers at 13-23, while the Bowties drop to 15-21.
