Hawks Fall to .500 After Loss to 1837 BBC
|
The Houston 1837 BBC did just enough to sneak past the Chicago Hawks, 2-1, at Hawks Ballpark. Houston pitcher Edison Larson earned player of the game honors. Larson went 7.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 4. His record improves to 2-1. Ash Wooden closed the door for Houston, picking up his 5th save of the year.
Bob Dickerson didn't waste any time giving his team the lead. His first time up in the top of the first, he cranked a 2-run home run to put Houston on top, 2-0.
Said Houston manager Tyler Johnson: "I tell our guys all the time: 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction.'"
Houston is 4th in the Third League with a record of 15-9.
