Bowties Prevail, 4-2, Over Montana
|
The Buckhead Bowties topped the Montana Pandas, 4-2, in Third League action at 5 Paces Park. The player of the game was Buckhead pitcher Floyd Cotton. The winning pitcher was Cotton, now 3-1. He tossed 6 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 5 and fanning 4. Montana, at 3-16, has had a dismal start to the season.
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic-born Manuel Carmona came through in the clutch. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st and the Bowties trailing 1-0, he hit a 2-run home run to right to put Buckhead on top.
"We found a way to get it done," Cotton said.
