Flamingos Get 7-4 Win Versus Toledo
|
Las Vegas beat Toledo at The Strip, escaping with a 7-4 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Victor Adams, who earned player of the game honors. He went 2 for 2 with a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. Shunen Takahashi earned the win for Las Vegas. He lasted 7.1 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 8 hits, while striking out 3. With the win, he raised his record to 2-0. Bartolo Ramírez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Las Vegas second baseman Xavier Hernández changed the complexion of the game in the bottom of the sixth. That's when he belted a 2-run home run off Gunner Hardy. His 1st home run of the season put Las Vegas in front, 5-4.
"I've been criticized for being a slacker, but the one thing I do care about is winning," Hernández told the Las Vegas Today.
The win moves Las Vegas to a record of 4-2.
