League Suspends Mata 2 Games Friday, May 7th, 2027 Durham will not have the services of catcher Guillermo Mata for several days. The league commissioner has suspended him for 2 games for arguing a third strike call. The altercation occurred in yesterday's contest with the Phoenix Hotspur Youth and involved the home plate umpire. Riled up by being called out, Mata slightly shoved him after he was ejected. In baseball it is taboo to touch an umpire. Mata currently has a .316 batting average with 6 hits, 1 homers, 3 RBIs, 2 runs scored and a .350 OBP. |
