Valenzuela Fires Shutout in Springfield Win Friday, August 20th, 2027 Gabriel Valenzuela of Springfield easily handled the Belvedere Park Rawhides, stopping them on 3 hits and chucking a complete-game 7-0 shutout. "He really did a job on us," said the Belvedere Park manager. "He had good command of his pitches. He changed speeds well and pretty much confused us. We never could zero in on him, but he certainly zeroed in on us." Valenzuela said, "Everything was working for me. Throwing my breaking stuff over the plate was big." He finished the game with 10 strikeouts and 2 walks in a solid outing. This season Valenzuela has worked 117 innings with 119 strikeouts en route to a 12-3 record and a 3.62 ERA.
