Veteran Conceio Hits Three Dingers Monday, July 12th, 2027 Bakersfield right fielder Abílio Conceio sensed he was going to have a good game at the plate, but he underestimated just a little bit. Prior to the game, Conceio predicted he would hit a home run against the Plymouth Rocks. During batting practice he told his teammates, "I really got my swing down pat. I feel some thunder in the lumber. I'm gonna get me a home run in this game." He was right. He did hit a home run -- three of them, in fact -- pacing the Nobles over the Rocks 26-7. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Conceio told reporters after the game. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs. Abílio Conceio grounded out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Louis Webber in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Elvin Glass in the 3rd, walked in the 5th, walked in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Rubén Rodríguez in the 8th. This year Conceio has batted at a .322 pace with 56 hits, 10 home runs, 36 RBIs and scored 38 times. |
