Grey Wolves Saddle Nuggets with 5-4 Loss
|
The Rocky Mountain Nuggets got a superb performance from pitcher Nathaniel Riley, but the Grey Wolves still won the game, 5-4. Riley was named the player of the game despite the loss. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. Francisco Valdés converted his 3rd save in 4 tries. The Grey Wolves, at 39-35, sit in third place in the Silver League.
Vancouver grabbed control in the bottom of the seventh. With two out and a runner on 2nd, Tony Farquharson delivered a run-scoring single, to make it 5-4 in favor of the Grey Wolves.
"We take it day by day here," said Farquharson, "and today was a good one for us."
