Middies Lose to Nuggets, 4-3
|
In a close game at Field of the Middies, the Rocky Mountain Nuggets edged the Grafton Middies, 4-3. Rocky Mountain first baseman Javier Sánchez earned the nod as player of the game after he was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. Jorge Garza got the save, the 12th for him this season. Rocky Mountain, at 19-25, sits in 8th place in the Silver League.
Rocky Mountain took the lead in the top of the seventh when Sánchez hit a run-scoring double. His 17th double made the score 4-3, Rocky Mountain.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Sánchez told a Rocky Mountain News reporter. "Sometimes we need just to relax."
