Northern Lions BC Get One-Run Win at Richardson City
|
The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC defeated the Richardson City Thundercats, 4-3, in Premier League action at The Thunder Dome. Wilfred McLaughlin received player of the game honors. The 10-year veteran went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Ramón Molina earned the win to go to 1-2. He allowed 3 earned runs on 6 hits, with no walks and 2 strikeouts. Jorge Castillo earned the save for Thunder Bay, his 2nd.
Thunder Bay took the lead in the top of the seventh when McLaughlin hit a run-scoring single. His 23rd hit made the score 4-3, Thunder Bay.
"Good win for us," said McLaughlin. "We'll lace up our cleats and go after the next one."
The defending champion Northern Lions BC have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 7-8 with the win.
