Win Streak Now at 8 for Black Cats
|
Gwinnett County starter Luis Arreola had a strong outing against the Hogsmeade Cauldrons at Pipers Ballpark. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 6-2 win. Arreola, now 8-3, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 9, walking 0, and allowing 2 earned runs. Luis Villabos closed the door for Gwinnett County, picking up his 3rd save of the year.
Scott McMahon contributed an important at-bat in the bottom of the seventh. With the bases loaded, he hit a 2-run single. It was one at-bat that helped send Gwinnett County to the win.
"We're just feeding off each other right now," said McMahon.
The Black Cats move to 58-35 with the win, while the Cauldrons drop to 51-42.
