|
Niagara Falls beat Nebraska at Plain Old Stadium, eking out a 3-2 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Santo Velazco, who earned player of the game honors. Velazco got the win, improving to 3-1. He allowed 7 hits and walked 0 over 8 innings. Velazco allowed 2 earned runs. The 5th-place Expos improved to 16-14.
A defensive miscue in the top of the fourth could have cost the Expos. With Niagara Falls leading 2-0, Danijel van Aalten reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 1 run. In the end, Niagara Falls was still able to win the ballgame.
"Some wins are easy, some are difficult, but either way we come to the ballpark ready to work hard every day," van Aalten told the Niagara Falls Gazette.
