Jets Top Tula to Even Record

Kennesaw pitcher Roger Murdock did his part in helping his team beat the Chicago Tula, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Murdock, now 2-2, was the winner. In 7.2 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 9, walking 2, and allowing 2 earned runs. Earning his 1st save for Kennesaw was Jim Unknown.
In the top of the fifth inning, third baseman Pedro Ortega came through big-time for the Jets. With Kennesaw leading 2-0, he belted a solo home run.
"Nice to put this one in the win column," said Ortega.
The Tula fall to 7-9 and continue their uneven start to the 2027 season.
