Baruc Garibay pitched a good game, but his team, the Washington Generals, still dropped a 1-0 decision to the Syracuse Storm at Washington Park. Dale Kurth closed the door for Syracuse, picking up his 1st save of the year. The win pushes Syracuse to a record of 4-1.
Enrique Gómez drove in one run for Syracuse. The 21-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the sixth. That's when he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Baruc Garibay. It was his 1st RBI of the season.
"We've got a great group of guys," Gómez said, "and we're having fun right now."
