Hammond played host to Connetquot at the friendly confines of The Heron Refuge.

The Hammond Herons got a stellar performance from pitcher Gregory Bahena, who handcuffed the Connetquot offense en route to a 5-1 win at The Heron Refuge. The Herons raised their record to 47-31.

Flexing his muscles for Hammond was Gomez Talone. The catcher had a grand slam home run in the bottom of the second for the Herons. It put his team ahead, 5-1, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Talone was 1-3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once.

"Whenever we hold the other team to one run," said Hammond Herons manager Ricardo Martínez, "I like our chances."
