Guzzlers Pull Back to Even with 4-3 Victory
|
Galesburg beat Belleville at Galesburg Field, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Mike McKay, who earned player of the game honors. Belleville has now lost 6 in a row.
A key at-bat in the game came in the bottom of the fifth inning when the Guzzlers sent teenager Barrett Drury to the plate against Bulls hurler Nelson Cuevas. With a runner on 2nd and a whole stadium watching, the kid controlled his nerves and delivered huge, hitting a double off a 1-2 curveball to score 1.
"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Belleville manager Philippe Parmentier.
