Screaming Eagles Come Up Short at Salem
Salem and Mercer Island duked it out at Ricochets Ballpark and the Misfits came out victorious.

Salem Misfits starter Fred Gunther was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles, 5-4. Gunther, now 9-6, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 2, and allowing 1 earned run.

Also doing his part was catcher Ryan Fiore, who stroked a run-scoring single in the bottom of the third for Salem. For the game, Fiore was 1-4.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Gunther. "I think we're going to keep proving that."

Salem now sits in 9th place in the Premier AA at 31-47.
