Hot N Readys Take Down BC, 9-5
|
The Little Caesars Hot N Readys beat the San Antonio BC, 9-5, at The Pizza Oven. The win was largely due to the efforts of second baseman Bernard Gauthier, who captured player of the game honors. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Leif Mayer was the winning pitcher. Over 6.1 innings, he allowed 2 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 8 strikeouts. With the win, Little Caesars improves its record to 7-8.
In the bottom of the third, Ralph Cranford hit a 2-run double for Little Caesars. The 6th double of the season for the Little Caesars center fielder put the Hot N Readys on top, 4-2.
"It all depends on which version of our team shows up," said Gauthier. "When we put it all together, I think we're a great team."
