Getting a good performance from second baseman Wade Killefer, the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles defeated the Salem Misfits, 4-3. Killefer went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles for the Screaming Eagles. Raúl Pérez got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 12 hits and 3 runs, while striking out 2 and walking 5. Riley Herrick got credit for the save for Mercer Island. It was his 2nd of the year.

In the top of the 7th, center fielder Robert Paulsen gave Mercer Island the lead when he hit a 2-run single. The Screaming Eagles had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out single off Salem pitcher Kevin McCrary changed that -- and Mercer Island went on to win.

Paulsen called the triumph "a good team win."

With the loss, Salem sinks to 2-2.
