The Houston BC thumped the Gryfindor Braves, 9-1, at Houston Park. Yoshihito Samurakami was a big reason his team got the win. Samurakami went 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Mark Collingwood was the winning pitcher. Over 8 innings, he allowed 1 run on 5 hits, with 3 walks and 2 strikeouts. Houston currently is in 7th place in the Premier AAA at 37-41.

Samurakami came through with some timely hitting for Houston. With the score 1-0 in the bottom of the second and two down, Samurakami hit a 1-2 fastball for a run-scoring double. It was his 17th double of the season -- and a big reason the BC managed to win.

"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Willis Crawford said.
